Aarushi murder case: Arushi’s father Dr. Rajesh Talwar, is stabbed outside Ghaziabad court with dagger today on January 25, 2011 (Tuesday) after filing a petition in his 14-year-old daughter Aarushi murder case. As Aarushi Talwar daughter of a successful dentist couple, was found dead with her throat slit in her parents’ home at Jalvayu Vihar in Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
Dr Rajesh Talwar was hit with a sharp edged weapon at the court by a stranger. The person has been taken into custody at the court police lock-up. Rajesh Talwar was immediately rushed to a hospital. He could be seen holding his head in pain as blood flowed out.
Dr Rajesh Talwar went to Ghaziabad court to file a a petition against his daughter Aarushi murder/ death case. Yam Prasad Banjade alias Hemraj, a 45-yr-old Nepalese national, who was found missing from the home. Declaring Hemraj as the prime suspect, the Noida police announced a reward for information leading to Hemraj’s apprehension and arrest. In addition, a police party was dispatched to his hometown in Nepal, in hopes of apprehending him there.
Earlier in the morning, Rajesh Talwar moved the court with a 60 page protest petition seeking rejection of closure report filed by the CBI in Aarushi case. Talwars claimed that the CBI has given incorrect conclusion. The hearing was adjourned till 12 pm.
The court on January 21 had rejected Rajesh Talwar’s application seeking annexures submitted by the CBI along with its closure report in the Aarushi murder case.
In a setback to the doctor couple, special judge Preeti Singh rejected Talwar’s application.
Aarushi, 14, was found murdered under mysterious circumstances in her parents’ Jalvayu Vihar apartment in Noida on May 16, 2008. Their domestic help Hemraj was initially suspected for the killing, but his body was found on the flat’s terrace a day later.
Rajesh Talwar was arrested soon after the murders but let off when investigators could not find evidence to nail him.
The CBI says it has pointed to the suspicious behaviour of Dr Talwar and wife Nupur in the closure report, saying the couple got Arushi’s room washed on the morning of May 16, 2008 – a few hours after the murder – and also tried to influence the doctor who conducted the post-mortem.
Ghaziabad court examines the validity of the closure report by CBI citing inadequate evidence against the suspects in the double murder case. As per CBI, the prime suspect is still Rajesh Talwar however the motive of this killing is still unknown.
