We know, we know Nexus One will get the Gingerbread treat before anyone else and the owners of its twin brother HTC Desire seem to be at the bottom of the list. But wait! There’s no need to get sad when you have such a great Android developer community that roots devices and ports new Android versions far ahead of launch.
Once again, XDA guys have made us proud. An XDA user and Android hacker AdamG has successfully ported the just-released Android 2.3 Gingerbread to HTC Desire! Cheer up guys, some of the stuff is already working, other is being fixed.
This is an experimental port at the moment which might not be suitable for everybody out there. Obviously, we’d get a stable version soon and you guys will definitely see a handy how-to guide here. Check back!
