Government officials said that schools and educational institutions in Chennai Weather Report Today Chennai, Cuddalore, Nagapattinam, Trichy and in some other affected areas will remain closed on Monday. Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea as heavy rain expected in coming hours. The death toll is expected to increase. Most of the death were due to electrocution, wall collapses, lightning and drowning in flood waters.

The truckers may have called off their strike but the prices of vegetables in the city continue to soar because of the incessant rain. While the price of vegetables like beans and cabbage have shot up in the past one week, prices of onions and tomatoes continue to remains high. The state cabinet will come across tomorrow to discuss the report and will review the status of relief works being followed out.
