So you guys know the initial things you should do with your Google Chrome Notebook. Right? But at times it can get tricky using a browser-only system for day to day use. But that’s not that difficult provided how powerful the web is these days. There are apps and extensions that make everything possible from within the browser window. Here are our favorite Chrome OS apps and extensions that’d make your life a lot more easier while using your Google Chrome Notebook Cr48.

12. Calculator

A simple calculator for day to day use. Either you are into currency conversions, want to calculate your personal budget or do some math with your paypal or credit card calculators always help. Don’t they?

11. Google Taks

It is a simple and easy to use to-do list that’s synced with gmail tasks. It opens as a drop-down and lets you add, delete or update a task in a single click. A great way to manage your day if you happen to be a multitasking guy.

10. Facebook

The Facebook extension for ChromeOS has got a slick interface. The icons on the left look nice. You can check news feed, your wall, notifications and even chat. As a bonus, it zooms the pictures and videos when you are browsing the facebook website to view them in full. A must-have extension for facebook lovers, well everybody.

9. Chrome to Phone

A lot of times we need to send links to our smartphones like Android market or iTunes links. It’s really annoying to keep emailing stuff to urseleves every now and then. Fortunately we have got two separate Chrome extensions to send links from Chrome directly to the iPhone or Android.

8. Google Mail Checker Plus

Google Mail Checker Plus is a great way of emailing. Whenever there’s a new email, it instantly notifies you with a notification at the bottom of the screen as well as updating the number count on the icon. You can then click the icon to view emails, reply or compose new emails from within the extension. fun!

7. Scratchpad

Scratchpad is an alternative to sticky notes. It is in fact a lot better solution as it has got formatting options and keeps opened in front of your Chrome. You can quickly take notes and refer to them without any hassle. Like gtalk and other separate-window apps, you can single click to minimize it.

6. Picnik

If you are into editing your flickr photos online then you must be aware of Picnik, It’s a simple, easy to use app to tweak your photos unlike the complex photoshop stuff!

5. Chromed Bird

4. Dropbox

ChromeOS doesn’t allow users to directly access it’s file manager. You get to have access to the stored data only when you see a ‘Browse’ button on a web page. You can’t even easily transfer your data from a flash drive to your Chrome Notebook’s memory. How’d you access your files that you were working on on your work computer or your laptop? Definitely via dropbox. Though ChromeOS still needs a deep Dropbox integration, this extension can make your life easier by allowing you to access your Dropbox files in a single click. Download them to Chrome Notebook’s memory and user wherever you want.

3. SlideRocket

SlideRocket is a fun way to create powerpoint-style presentations. It’s a huge leap ahead from Powerpoint, Google Docs or any other presentation tool. With ultimate options, animations, transitions and effects you can’t miss it. Even if you are not into creating presentations, it’s a fun app to try.

Chrome Noteook’s built-in mic is pretty nice. It makes voice communication seamless, you talk while working. Why not make and receive phone calls without getting disturbed? With Google Voice extension installed, you won’t need to reach out to your phone or grab a mic, attach it to the notebook and call. It’d rather let you receive calls, voicemails and text messages with a single click without any overhead. You can also initiate calls by typing a phone number or a contact name, all free. As a bonus, it converts all phone numbers on webpages into clickable links to initiate calls. A must-have extension!

1. Google Docs / Zoho Writer

Here comes our top app! How’d be your life if there’s no MS Word on your PC/Mac? How’d you survive on a compter that can’t run it? It’s browser-only! Google Docs is your friend! But well, I like Zoho a lot more!
