Police had to fire tear gas shells on the agitating students.

The joint action committee of the students has given a bandh call on Friday to protest against the recommendations of Srikrishna committee. The Srikrishna committee report evoked strong reactions from the political parties in the state as it added to the already existng confusion on the issue of separate statehood. The report is only an attempt by the centre to push the ball back into the court of political parties in the state and is something which cannot be implemented, is the initial reaction of all the political parties. The political parties are likely to get into agitation mode once again from Friday. TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to resort to another round of fast soon. A decision on this is likely by evening.
