I’ve been thinking over it and was totally having the view that Motorola’s latest gadget Atrix 4G should be able run all Linux apps. Does it really?

Motorola’s shipping the Atrix with it’s own version of Linux; Motorola-Linux. When you connect it to the laptop dock and flip open it, you are welcomed by a desktop Linux instead of Android. This Linux runs three apps by default – Firefox 3.6, file manager and Android-in-a-window. Only three apps? Why on earth? If this thing can run firefox why not others? Motorola and Android guys hardly have a history of imposing non-sense restrictions through software. This thing should run many Linux apps out of the box. I’d install GIMP first of all!

My comment is backed up by @Maxisma as well – our good old folk and a prominent Android hacker. He isn’t any old by the way.

Well, even if there’s a software-imposed restriction, what are our gorilla’s for? Root! shoot!!
