Nook awesomeness had begun with the root access on the gadget but the real exciting news came when we saw hackers successfully running Android market on it. That was a big step forward in giving Nook a tablet-like experience but the awesomeness didn’t end just there.
Hackers have been all up with the hard work to amaze us. This time they have succeeded in porting Android 2.2 Froyo on Nook Color. Interestingly, this comes from our old friend who had unlocked the Palm Pre. Yea, I’m talking about Steve Troughton Smith. Here’s his Nook Color running Android 2.2 Froyo:

But if you are really interested in trying this thing out, hit the XDA link below for instructions and all the hacking stuff. Wi-fi, browser and sound are working but there are no Google apps yet just like the real Nook. FM radio, Bluetooth and accelerometer are not also not working for now.
Great work guys, we are looking forward to a stable ROM for the masses. We know you won’t stop there even, like Steve we are also hopeful for a Gingerbread ROM.
