Currently tomatoes are selling at Rs. 40-50 per kg in the retail market.
However Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit has expressed confidence that the prices of both the commodities will come down very soon.
In an attempt to bring down the prices, the central government has already banned onion exports in a view to increase the availability of onions in the domestic market.

She also said that government will look into the price rise of tomotoes and will take the necessary steps.
