The Board Of Technical Examinations appointed by the Government of Kerala controls the Examination system.Present Board consists of 15 members with Director of Technical Education as Chairman. The Senior Joint Director (Polytechnic Scheme) is the Controller of Technical Examinations.

The Board shall have power to frame guidelines or issue directions or instructions for the efficient conduct of the examination and to keep up the integrity of the Examinations. Period of the state board is three years.
